Training
Lauren Salas
Trainer Lauren Salas has a background in classical dressage and an extensive career in the jumper arena. With 15 years of teaching experience, she loves to share her passion with her students. From living in Europe and riding and competing in Hungary, Austria, and Slovakia to managing a 4500 acre cattle operation in Santa Barbara county, there is almost no facet of the equestrian field that Lauren hasn’t taken interest in. Lauren is passionate about developing young sport horses and accepts a variety of breeds and disciplines into her program. She takes a ground up approach with both her students and horses to produce educated riders and happy horses.
Lauren’s students compete primarily in the jumper arena and at recognized and unrecognized events. The team keeps a busy schedule with monthly outings to local shows, events, and clinics- there is always something to look forward to!
All of the riders either half lease, full lease, or own their own horse at Carmel Creek Ranch in Carmel Valley, San Diego. Lauren does not offer riding lessons to beginners at this time, nor does she have lesson horses available to clients who do not wish to lease, although horses for a wide range of riding abilities are often available to lease. Please inquire about available leases and training opportunities.
“Working with Lauren has been such a blessing for me and my once-wild little OTTB. She is such a supportive and positive trainer who takes the needs of both horse and rider into account and finds a way to help them work better together as a team. There is no ‘one size fits all’ method when it comes to training, and Lauren’s years of experience give her the ability to tailor customized programs for all of her students.”
– Corey, Client
“Lauren is an expert with the biggest heart. Pushes you when you need pushed. Encourages you when you need support. I’ve become the best rider I’ve ever been in my life after a few short months of her coaching.”
